Barre Elks Lodge members presented Barre Town Middle and Elementary School with a check for $250 to assist in providing scholarships for students to attend various summer day camps and programs. The funds, made available through the Elks National Foundation Gratitude grant will be used to cover tuition costs for approximately 70 students to attend sporting, arts and crafts, water activities and swimming lesson programs and camps.
Dianna Fecher, BTMES home school coordinator attended a dinner and check presentation held by the Lodge members. “Day camps and programs provide some students with healthy meals and nutrition, which they would only receive while there. The children acquire life-long skills, guidance and friendships.”
