Springfield Elks Lodge 1560, recently participated in their 3rd Annual Drive for the Springfield Santa Claus Club.  The Elks members donated unwrapped Christmas gifts to the Santa Claus Club.

The Elks Lodge chose to participate with (30) gift requests for needy recipients, half elders, half children.  Gifts ranged from jeans, warm clothes, apparel items to books, stationary & postage stamps, video games, gift cards and favorite toys.  Total gift valued nearly $900+.

The Elks Lodge would like to thank their loyal members who gave to this charitable organization and supporting their work in our local community.

This picture shows how we got our members involved  The Christmas tree had envelopes on it, so the members took an envelope and brought in a gift for the Santa Claus Club per what the envelope requested

Hoop Shoot – Virtual Conclusion Plan

This is what nationals want to do for hoop shoot. The email is from the new Region 6 Regional director and the attachment is from National Hoop shoot.
Steve Edgerley

Email from Region 6 Regional Director:
Good Evening Everyone, I hope everyone is doing well as our States seem to shutting down again. As I stated in my previous email I had a zoom meeting with the other Regional Directors and ENF the other day. Attached is the “virtual plan” they are working on. I am asking for everyone’s thoughts, suggestions, input, and ideas. I have my own thoughts on this “plan” but I would like one cohesive thought from all of us in New England when I talk to Chicago again. If everyone on this email can email me back that they have at least reviewed this plan that would be much appreciated. If I don’t hear from someone, I will be giving you a call. Sharon and I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and hope everyone stays healthy and safe.
Fraternally, Mike Stewart

Newport Elks Lodge hosts flu clinic

Newport Elks Lodge hosted North Country Hospital’s first of three community flu clinics. With many restrictions still in place surrounding the pandemic, the decision to move the clinics off the hospital campus made sense. “The Elks facility allowed the parking and social distancing necessary to run a smooth flu clinic,” stated Karen Silvestri, RN, North Country Primary Care Clinical Manager. She added, “it’s not too late if you missed this one – we are at the Elks again Wednesday, October 7, from 3 – 7 pm, as well as Saturday, October 10, from 8 am – noon.”
Gail Martin of West Charleston commented after receiving her flu shot, “They did an excellent job of moving everyone through the long line efficiently. They sterilized between every person, and they came out to the vehicles to give the flu shot for the people who were not mobile. The whole experience was professional, and I felt safe.”
